Salary: £ 18,000 – £ 20,250 per rate

WORK OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job for an administrator / customer service fundraising assistant with excellent administrative, time management and written and oral communication skills.

As an administrator / customer service fundraising assistant, you support the team with a variety of activities, from answering the phone to completing queries, updating the system, processing payments and performing general administrative tasks.

As an administrator / customer service fundraising assistant, you need previous experience in the service of a customer service environment and experience in the administrative role.

DUTIES

Your duties and responsibilities as the administrator / customer service fundraising assistant will include:

  • Provides excellent front-line support for all fundraising activities. Make direct contact with supporters and volunteers, by telephone, electronically or by post. Deal with and resolve problems or complaints. Obtain information to handle queries, record all interactions on the relevant database and follow up all actions where necessary
  • Support staff in the use of community fundraising systems. High accuracy in data entry within the agreed time frame. Maintain relevant databases and provide reports as needed. Maintain files and data in accordance with the general data protection regulations.
  • Handles all relevant correspondence and inquiries and provides excellent customer service. Assist with planning and organizing communications, including newsletters and mail shots. Conduct telephone questionnaires and surveys as required. Assist with the production and distribution of support materials to stakeholders (fundraising groups, volunteers, etc.) and supporters
  • Provide financial support as needed, e.g. Processing of direct payments, forms for compensation claims. Provide guidance to treasurers and group officials and help solve problems at local level
  • Send all welcome fundraising packages and other resources, such as receptacles, to the local network
  • Liaise with local groups and supporters to support their fundraising activities. Provide general administrative support to the community fundraising development officers and the community fundraising management team

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • Educated to GCSE Grade C or higher in English and Mathematics or equivalent
  • Proven work experience in a customer service environment.
  • Proven experience of administrative work
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word packages and the ability to use customer relationship databases
  • Able to use own initiative and work well under pressure
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (written and oral)
  • High customer service skills and dedication to a customer-oriented service
  • Effective time management skills with the ability to give multiple tasks and prioritize their own workload
  • Self-assured telephone method that shows patience, empathy and listening skills
  • Able to handle difficult conversations in a calm and non-judgmental way
  • The willingness to work as part of a team to achieve results
  • Able to work effectively to reach agreed service level agreements
  • Accurate data entry skills
  • Previous exposure to work in the charity (desirable)
