Job description: The Department of Neurology is looking for a senior administrative assistant to provide administrative support to physicians in the department who coincide with their rapid medical practices, research, education and administrative activities. The incumbent works closely with the faculty to coordinate meetings, events and travel; the preparation of presentations and written reports for meetings and research activities; and serves as a liaison for patients and visitors. It will also be expected to manage patient inquiries, combat incoming phone calls and correspondence, and conduct online literature searches, as well as provide special support for special projects.
The candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as strong organizational and administrative skills. Candidate must also work with great attention to detail, show initiative and show flexibility to respond to the diverse demands in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) is required. Knowledge of EPIC is preferred. To be competitive, applicants must have significant related experience in administrative support in a higher education or medical office. A bachelor’s degree may be considered instead of experience. A high school diploma or equivalent with at least four years of experience is required.
