Kelmscott School is a highly ambitious school in the heart of East London. Inclusion is at the heart of everything we do. Waltham Forest (London Borough of Culture 2019) reaps the benefits of character, diversity and cultures in our city, the things we have in common and the things that make us different. Our motto of the school is ‘To put learning first’, something we really appreciate. We also have an annual mantra that this year is ‘Alone, we can do so little, together we can do so much, we speak out’. We hope that this language gives you a good indication of what we value as a school. Colleagues at our school are happy and as a result we have a low staff turnover. Staff well-being and work-life balance are a priority for us, as we believe our staff work at their best if they can also fully commit themselves to their family and personal lives. The behavior of students at Kelmscott is impeccable. Our behavioral systems are designed to teach teachers and teach our students. The support staff at Kelmscott is an integral part of the processes that keep our classrooms ‘disruption-free’, which we would like to show you.

We were investigated in January 2020 under the new framework. Ofsted saw two typical Kelmscott days and was very impressed with what they saw. They still consider the school to be good with many excellent features. The report can be obtained on the school’s website.
