Job description: POSITION DESCRIPTION

Position: Household Coordinator

Department: Rooms / Household

Reports to: Administration Assistant / Ass. Director of Household / Ass. Household Manager / HK Manager

PURPOSE OF POSITION
To provide household orders / telephone services to guests and staff

KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure that all information regarding household is sent and received
  • Receive, record and distribute various reports via Opera Property Management System
  • Receive, sign and send guest requests accurately
  • Enter accurate room status on your computer daily and check for inconsistencies
  • Maintain and update administrative data
  • Maintain key control and monitor lost property
  • Maintain the work area in a proper state of neatness
  • Handle guests’ complaints, delegate immediately and report to the head housekeeper
  • Comply with the hotel’s health, safety and hygiene policy
  • Adhere to the care and hygiene of staff
  • Attend meetings and training sessions as needed
  • Have an awareness of all household positions, including their job functions
  • Maintain good relations with domestic staff and other departments, especially Front Office, Engineering and Laundry
  • Ensure that daily activities are carried over smoothly to the next shift
  • Keep lost and found records.
  • Ensure that the mail orders and missing items are properly followed up
  • Cost for updating departmental notice boards

Responsibilities for Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S)

  • Ensure compliance with all OH&S legislation, policies and procedures
  • Get acquainted with property safety, first aid and fire and emergency procedures
  • Record safety incidents and accidents according to hotel requirements

PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS

  • Excellent reading, writing and speaking skills in English
  • Be familiar with household / butler duties
  • Good communication and contact skills
  • Must be well presented and professionally cared for at all times
  • Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Post-secondary education, preferably with professional qualifications in secretarial skills.

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 2 – 3 years experience in the domestic department
