We are currently looking for a full-time and experienced learning support assistant to support primary students in the subjects English, Mathematics and Science. The role You provide personal and specialist support on a 1: 1 basis and in a small group with primary students between 5 and 11. The ideal candidate To be eligible for this position, you must:

  • experience of providing core subject support to primary school pupils (Y1 Y6)
  • experience in supporting students with special educational needs or learning difficulties through the planning and delivery of small groups and 1: 1 intervention sessions
  • experience supporting students with specific learning disabilities, including dyslexia and dyscalculia, as well as ADHD
  • previous and relevant experience of working as a learning support assistant (LSA) or primary teacher
  • experience of providing a variety of specialist SEND interventions, e.g. SNIP and Nessy
  • previous experience of working within the UK curriculum at primary level
  • relevant qualifications, including specialist SEND qualifications and training
  • a secure knowledge of online teaching platforms, including MS Teams, Zoom and Seesaw
  • excellent communication skills
  • the ability to manage time effectively to ensure that all administrative tasks are completed

The school has high standards for its students and is looking for someone who thrives to maintain high academic achievement. The ideal candidate will be confident and successful in teaching students with learning difficulties and who have followed the UK national curriculum. The candidate experience should include working with primary elderly students across the core areas. The candidate is expected to prepare and write one-on-one tutorials and small group teaching sessions for primary school learners. The ability to work with other stakeholders to improve student participation is extremely important for this role. The candidate will support students, teachers and parents to develop personal educational plans (PEPs) and develop the provision according to the specific needs of the students. The candidate works with the head of inclusion, the primary inclusion team and primary school teachers / specialist teachers to personalize the support of individual students. Only candidates with the relevant experience and specialist qualifications will be shortlisted for an interview. The role is for August 2021. Remuneration will be competitive. This is a full-time vacancy, from 29 August 2021.
