We are looking for a talented and experienced person who has a level 2 in aquatic education to oversee the safe supervision. The postman must ensure that all relevant health and safety legislation and procedures are followed consistently during the delivery of lessons, a health and safety qualification or relevant experience is desirable.

The postmaster operates across six Nottingham City Recreation Centers and two external sites and is responsible for the implementation and line management of swimming instructors for the delivery of lessons according to the agreed standards as set out by the swimming plan and National Curruculum outcomes. The postmaster is expected to manage HR functions (such as recruitment, induction, absence management) and implement the performance appraisal program for swimming instructors.

Experience supervising staff is essential, as the postmaster will support swimming teachers in monitoring and evaluating lessons, strong observation and communication skills are essential.

The post holder must own or be able to own or be able to own a (NPLQ) National Pool Lifeguard or NRASTAC National Rescue Award Swimming Teachers and Coaches during the first three months of service.

The postmaster must be IT literate, as he will be responsible for managing the training database and payroll functions, water safety initiatives and supporting the school pool manager with a variety of organizational and administrative tasks.

Essential requirements:

  • Level 2 in the teaching of aquatics
  • A complete driver’s license
  • Experience in line management
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Supervisory experience
