The Director of Partnerships and Legal Advice reports to the CAO and is responsible for overseeing UTSC’s legal affairs, including drafting and reviewing contracts, land use development and planning, construction and procurement, government and corporate relations, and general advice. on complex and important legal matters, policies, management and administrative matters for all parts of the UTSC. The Director of Partnerships and Legal Advice also acts as a liaison between UTSC and other university legal advisers for all general legal matters and works closely with UTSC staff and faculties to provide legal guidance and coordinate matters with internal and external advisors on various projects and matters. .
Under the guidance of the Director of Partnerships and Legal Advice, the Legal Assistant provides effective support in a very self-directed way and regularly handles a lot of confidential information. The incumbent will manage a full range of administrative support and submit a highly complex and confidential legal system and coordinate and locate files and commands. They will provide research and highlight issues of legal significance, review, review and report on mail and items, assign priority and deal with routine matters. The legal assistant will arrange meetings, hold meetings, manage the director’s calendar, gather materials for external advice retained by the UTSC, provide information and support during confidential negotiations that will have an impact on the UTSC campus and the faculty and staff. have. They will review, track and process expenses and departmental accounts and coordinate the ordering of inventory and office purchases.
College Diploma in legal / secretarial assistant or legal clerk program or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Minimum of five (5) years legal administration experience required.
Knowledge of MS Office, scheduling and email software; strong accurate keyboard skills. Familiarity with web search and research tools, effective problem-solving skills. Familiarity with Sharepoint and iManage is an asset.
