Hampshire’s library service needs enthusiastic library team assistants to join our busy and flexible teams. Your role is to provide a welcoming environment for all, to promote our services and facilities, to plan and deliver activities for children and adults, to assist with inventory management, as well as to provide a wide range of to perform administrative duties.
You offer an excellent customer experience to anyone who visits our libraries and encourages people to read a variety of authors and book titles, download our programs for access to e-magazines, e-books, e-audiobooks and account options. You will participate in special offers for adults and children, sign up for courses and events and use our IT facilities.
You will have good general training, combined with excellent human relations and customer service skills, with good IT skills. You will accept flexible work and, if necessary, be able to use your own initiative.
You are expected to travel between a small group of libraries, so you will have to meet specific travel requirements that will be set out during an interview.
You will be required to work shifts over a 2-week rotation, which includes occasionally alone and every Saturday.
A complete training and education program is provided, and continuous personal development is encouraged.
