Prefer at least one year experience in a healthcare setting or one year experience as an EMT, Paramedic and / or Corpsman. Prefer phlebotomy experience, plus experience with electronic medical records. Requires Certified Medical Assistant, Registered Medical Assistant or Certified EMT-B. Existing medical assistants who are appointed before 12/1/14 can obtain the Cert MA or Reg MA certification or obtain the enrollment return (ABR-OE) before 6/30/15. BLS required within 90 days of rental.

Job placement

Sentara hires a medical assistant. Full-time day shift position. A medical assistant at Sentara, you work directly with a physician who performs phlebotomy (laboratory), clinical and mental duties. The main responsibilities of this position include bringing the patients into the rooms, taking viability, verifying patient information and preparing for the doctor.
