Job description: We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic teaching assistant to join our team at Chartham Primary School in the most important phase 1. You should be a positive and enthusiastic person who likes to work with children and help them strive for their best.

While experience is desirable, it is not essential; your numeracy and literacy are of a high standard to support and expand children during the primary age group. You will be able to communicate effectively with children and adults, have a flexible attitude, have a good sense of humor and be friendly and approachable. Good time management and the ability to work on one’s own initiative are essential.

Responsibilities will include: • Leading groups of children in focus interventions • Supporting children in achieving the lesson goal in literacy, mathematics and in all areas of the curriculum • Feedback to the class teacher and sometimes keep track of progress and behavior, ie Tapestry • Work with different year groups to support social, emotional, behavioral or medical needs • Preparation of resources and administrative work • Creative display of child labor • Lunch • Some cover supervision.

Above all, you must be determined to help our children achieve their best and be willing to put their needs first. Children will be the core of your work. You must be able to demonstrate that you understand the importance of educating the whole child in a creative and innovative school environment.

The post is pro rata for 30 hours per week, term only (8.45 to 15.15 hours), in Kent Range 3 (£ 18,425), which equates to an annual salary of £ 12,519.

The postman must work 38 weeks a year. In addition, the postmaster receives a payment in respect of his pro rata claim on annual leave that matches his degree, holidays and the KCC concession day.

School information

Chartham Primary is located in a rural area in the large town of Chartham. The school moved permanently to bipartisan enrollment in September 2020 and has a role of about 360.

We have extensive playing fields and plenty of space for outdoor learning and bush school activities. We also have a school radio station.

Our staff team is committed to providing the best possible education for each child and working in partnership with parents. We are proud to hold the IQM Award for Inclusion and had a very successful Ofsted inspection in October 2019.

Chartham Primary School and St Stephen’s Infant School shared executive leadership arrangements with the CEO, CFO and HR officer working across the two schools. Based on this relationship, we switched to a Multi-Academy Trust, Inspira, on April 1, 2021. The successful candidate will be employed by Inspira Academy Trust in accordance with the terms and conditions set forth herein. Inspira Academy Trust is committed to paying all its staff on national and local terms of service.

Expected salary: £12519 per year
