Yes FT / PT Full-time Category Business / Professional Administrative Position Summary UAE Subjects Encouraged to Apply to New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) wants to appoint an Assistant Compliance Officer to report to the Chief Compliance Officer. The NYUAD Office of Compliance and Risk Management (OCRM) is responsible for developing and implementing a compliance program that advises NYUAD to carry out its mission with integrity and compliance with NYUAD’s legal, regulatory and ethical responsibilities. The NYUAD compliance program consists of various elements, including well-communicated policies and procedures, ongoing training and education, and risk management for compliance. NYUAD OCRM is also responsible for the proper coordination and integration of the compliance program with New York University’s global compliance program. Key responsibilities: Engage directly with department heads on behalf of NYUAD OCRM in carrying out the responsibilities of NYUAD OCRM Lead training and awareness programs for compliance with the University’s code of ethics and conflicts of interest (and other applicable policies) for NYUAD’s administrative and academic links directly with the director, learning and development regarding NYUAD OCRM training and awareness program Contact directly with the Provost’s office regarding faculty policy awareness sessions and monitoring the administration of the annual disclosure process for academic engagement conflicts and conflicts of interest to work with human resources develop and implement greater community awareness and participation for OCRM training and awareness sessions. Facilitate the process of disseminating administrative conflicts of interest, including review, analysis and preparation of management nt plans for any identified conflicts Facilitate policy review policies, including review of all policies and procedures in collaboration with departmental policy review committee members Improve the compliance training and awareness-raising program in collaboration with human resources (including the development and implementation of iLearn training modules that complement live code of ethics and other training and awareness-raising programs) directly contact NYUAD directors participating in the NYU Compliance and Risk Management Working Group and other division heads in NYUAD’s academic and administrative units to compile annual compliance training statistics for annual and semi-annual reports to the audit committees Facilitate NYUAD divisions’ compliance training development program, as appropriate. Develop and update the content of the OCRM intranet page. Research various compliance issues, including reviewing university policies, best practices, laws and regulations in various areas of compliance risks, such as research compliance, privacy, public safety and other compliance areas. Represent NYUAD OCRM on standing EHS committees Chief Compliance Officer Represents NYUAD Office of Compliance and Risk Management in several global network university committees, including the NYU Compliance and Risk Officers Working Group Leads and holds meetings with NYUAD contractors regarding SCC Lead contractual compliance and holds update meetings with NYUAD directors and departments responsible for the management of operational service contracts to discuss contractors’ performance and compliance with the SCC Conduct monthly monitoring activities and work compliance audits, including: Conduct monthly maintenance old with NYUAD contract staff out to ensure suppliers meet NYUAD labor standards. nure compliance with NYUAD labor standards Receive and document labor complaints Develop and lead training and awareness sessions for suppliers regarding their obligations with the Labor Standards. Participate and take note of workbox discussions led by suppliers for contract staff Qualifications Required Education: Bachelor’s degree. Certification, license, demonstrated experience in compliance, audit or human resources Preferred training: postgraduate degree in compliance, audit, investigative, risk management, human resources, higher education, legislation or other relevant field Certification, license in audit, compliance or risk management Demonstrated professional experience in compliance, audit or human resources in higher education Required experience: 5 – 10 years relevant compliance, legal, audit, risk management experience, human resources or equivalent combination of training and experience Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent written and oral communication skills The ability to interview structure and perform to collect requirements Analytical skills to analyze the requirements and define scope and deliveries. Strong attention to detail to summarize, analyze and report risk information on compliance Leadership skills in working with a diverse constituency, consensus building, the ability to identify risks and develop risk reduction strategies.
