- specialty services in obstetrics, pediatrics, nuclear medicine, dialysis therapy, diagnostic imaging, intensive care, sleep disorders and physical therapy
- A Level II Trauma Center

Provides basic administrative, administrative and technical support services under the supervision of a licensed provider for patients and their families in the Rural Health Clinic. Assist the physician or nurse to implement the medical care plan, including obtaining history and physical, accurate vital signs, medication administration, tests and procedures, telephone calls, scheduling, and obtaining authorizations.
High school diploma OR equivalent training / experience.
Graduate of an approved medical assistance program with possession of a current certificate or registration as a medical assistant by any of the following organizations: the California Certified Medical Assistants (CCMA), American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or American Medical Technologists (AMT) ).
Certified Medical Assistant – CMA
Current BLS card for healthcare providers is required.
Driver’s license, valid and capable – DL number
Ability to type 35 wpm.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
Excellent customer service skills are required for this position.
The ability to read, write, hear and communicate orally in English to the extent necessary to perform the task.
Competence in basic medical aids, such as medication administration, card documentation, taking important signs, preparing patients for exams, basic tests such as finger sticks, etc.
The ability to manage multiple priorities and demands on time while staying calm.
Knowledge of basic anatomy and physiology.
Knowledge of what a medical emergency is, which requires the attention of a physician or a licensed nurse.
Knowledge of the scope of practice of a medical assistant.
Knowledge and understanding of medication administration and dose calculation skills as evidenced by the successful completion of the medication test.
Knowledge of medical terminology.
Knowledge of computers and their applications. The ability to learn and use the electronic health record successfully
The ability to use office equipment efficiently, ie fax, photocopy machine, etc.
